We believe that Yoga is for everybody and this is something we express through our classes. All levels are welcome to practice with us. By offering different variations we challenge and reward each student with results that benefit both body and mind.

 

At Mana we are bound together by a passion for yoga and we work hard to create a space that is inviting for everyone, whether you stay at our place or join for drop in yoga. No reservations required. Public showers and café available.

Our Teachers

Evelien Beirinckx

Co-founder of Mana Yoga, Evie’s love for travel, adventure, surf and Yoga brought her to Indonesia in 2013 where she has been living and teaching since.

 

Evie`s classes gently support, strengthen and stretch ones body, incorporating postures from various yoga disciplines while responding intuitively to the student’s needs. Through clear alignment cues and instructions, Evie challenges and rewards every student with results that benefit both body and mind.

 

She likes to put some playful elements into her classes as she believes that it is a happy talent to know how to play and to find joy on your mat. As one of her students once perfectly phrased:

 

“Evie’s positivity and smile gets you through the hardest poses and reminds you of the benefits of yoga for a healthy and happy life”

 

When not on the mat, the chance is very likely you will bump into her in the surf!

Donald Hill

Don is a happy human and a bit of an acrobat, always on the lookout for the next adventure. He believes that yoga can change the soul and bring light and happiness into one’s life.

 

Don specialises in Vinyasa, Yin, Acro Yoga and Arm Balancing while focusing on alignment for safety and self-inquiry for growth. Sharing his knowledge is his passion. His energy is powerful and contagious, gentle and giving. His goal is to inspire others by his journey and bring their life into the here and now!

Anton

Born and raised in Lombok, Anton started his dedicated Yoga Practice when he began working for Mana Yoga in 2014.

 

For the last 2 years he has been the welcoming and helpful face behind the reception. He is also known as the strong and bendable yogi on the mat.

 

His amazing body awareness, his kindness and his attention for every student makes Anton a naturally talented and dedicated teacher.

 

Anton`s classes are uplifting and offer something to students of every level.

Maria Weidenkeller

Maria first touched ground in Lombok in 2015 and has been in love with this piece of paradise ever since, sharing her experiences with fellow yoga-enthusiasts and newbies on Mana’s mat.

 

For Maria yoga is what water, earth and sun are to a flower: fuel for growth and transformation. After several years of practicing yoga she advanced to a certified 500 RYT teacher in traditional Hatha. Her classes incorporate all aspects of yoga, not only the physical. She inspires her students to move with ease, focusing calmly on breath while creating space and courage to grow and transform. Off the mat you´ll find her on a surf-board, relaxing in a hammock or snacking on banana bread.

Gentle Flow

GENTLE ENERGETIC FLOW WHILE FOCUSING ON OPTIMAL ALIGNMENT

A gentle moving class where breath is linked with movement through creative and fun poses/sequences. Suitable for students of any age and experience who wish to practice on a slightly slower pace. This class is based on optimal alignment of the body while building strength, improving flexibility and finding focus.

Vinyasa

LINKING BREATH WITH MOVEMENT THROUGH A FASTER ENERGETIC FLOW

Linking breath with movement, these flowing classes are built around a varied and creative sequence of postures. Create heat, strength, stamina and flexibility through a faster energetic flow.

Surfers Yoga

EXTRA FOCUS ON STRETCHING AND STRENGTHENING MUSCLES ASSOCIATED WITH SURFING

Surfing demands a lot from the body and often tightens up muscles around the back, shoulders and hips. In this class we focus on lengthening and releasing pressure in the spine, shoulders, hips and hamstrings to help re-balance your body. Extra focus will go to core strength, balance and breath awareness as we all know that a strong core and a calm mind are great tools in the water.

Yin Yoga

CREATE A DEEP STRETCH IN SEATED AND LYING POSES THAT WE HOLD FOR 3 TO 5 MINUTES

Yin Yoga is a gentle practice where postures are held for 3 to 5 minutes. This length of time is used to stretch the thicker layers of our connective tissues like the fascia (the mesh around the muscles that hold our body together). Mainly holding seated and lying postures, we reduce the use of our muscle power in Yin Yoga and this makes it a perfect complement to a dynamic (Yang) style practice. We let gravity do the work by sinking into the poses, finding our personal edge; with or without the support of bolsters, blankets and blocks. Coming out of our comfort zone by holding the poses for a longer time, we examine limits and explore potentials while developing attentiveness and awareness. This practice is available to everyone and will provide a rewarding deep stretch.

Yin-Yang

A BALANCED COMBINATION OF A GENTLE YIN AND AN ENERGISING ACTIVE YANG YOGA PRACTICE

Warm up the body with a gentle Vinyasa flow targeting specific areas of the body, then moving gradually towards the Yin part of the class to dive deeper into the targeted areas of the body, leaving you refreshed and revitalised

Acro Yoga

COMBINE ACROBATICS AND YOGA THROUGH FUN AND PLAYFUL TEAMWORK

Acro yoga is a fun and playful practice that combines the awareness, breath and balance of yoga, the dynamics of acrobatics and the healing, loving nature of Thai massage. Through partner work we develop trust, connection and openness. No partner or experience needed.

Restorative

RESTORATIVE YOGA IS A FORM OF YOGA THAT SEEKS TO ACHIEVE PHYSICAL, MENTAL AND EMOTIONAL RELAXATION WITH THE AID OF PROPS TO SUPPORT THE BODY.

While Yin Yoga and Restorative Yoga are similar in that poses are held for long periods, they have different purposes. Restorative Yoga is more focused on finding comfort and relaxation through more gentle poses. These healing postures help will release areas of tension that cannot always be accessed by a dynamic yoga practice.

Beginners Yoga

DEEPEN YOUR UNDERSTANDING ABOUT YOGA, BRINGING MORE ATTENTION THE BREAKING DOWN THE POSES IN ALIGNMENT AND BENEFITS AND SHARING KNOWLEDGE ABOUT THE PHILOSOPHY OF YOGA.

You will learn breathing techniques while strengthening your body, increasing mobility and building confidence.

Both beginners as experienced Yogi`s are invited to this class. For the experienced yogi it is a great opportunity to refresh and deepen your understanding of our practice.

Hatha

DEEPEN YOUR UNDERSTANDING OF THE POSTURES, BREATHING AND RELAXATION TECHNIQUES THROUGH A SLOWER MOVING PRACTICE.

Perfect practice if you want to build flexibility and strength while taking the time to focus on the alignment of the body and creating more body-awareness.

Pranayama and meditation

EXPLORE ONE OR MORE PRANAYAMA/BREATHING AND MEDITATION TECHNIQUES THAT WILL STRENGTHEN YOUR RESPIRATORY SYSTEM, MIND AND YOGA PRACTICE.

When you sit in meditation, you watch your thoughts and emotions come and go without judgement. This allows you to understand what is going on inside of you but also enables you to calm down the mind, become more present and improve a deeper spiritual connection.

Community Yoga

This is a free Yoga class taught by one of our teachers. Donations are appreciated and all this money will go to local charity projects. In this way we can give back to the amazing community of Lombok that gave us the opportunity to be here and establish our dreams.
